Introduction:
In prebaked technology, prebaked anodes have to be removed at regular intervals, when they have reacted down to one third or one fourth of their original size. These remaining anodes are termed as anode butts.
Applications:
£¨1£©recycled as raw material of new anodes:
Spent anode butts, namely the waste of prebaked anodes are usually cleaned
outside the cell in a separate cleaning station to be able to recirculate the adhering bath materials removed from the cell. The cleaned butts are then crushed and used as a raw material of new carbon anodes used in electrolytic aluminum field. .
£¨2£©as fuel
spent anode butts can be used as fuel for copper smelting instead of foundry coke with a much lower price. And one metric ton carbon anode scraps equals 1.5tons foundry coke in supplying energy.?
(3) as the raw materials of cupric sulfate
(4)used as halogenation catalyst for producing titanium tetrachloride. |
